EVENTS

March 3, 2007

Pray for a clear sky in the east shortly after 6 pm on March 3rd.

A totally eclipsed moon will be rising and will retain totallity until about 7:09 pm.
At that time, the earths terminator will be seen moving across the moon's face from the lower left side of the moon.
The moon will still be in penumbral shadow until about 8:17 when the remaining shadow will begin to withdraw.
See below for a pictorial explanation.

3:21 pm beginning of eclipse (on east coast)

4:33 start of totallity (on east coast)

6:09 pm is when we might begin to see the eclipsed moon on the horizon. There will be evening light at that time, however, so we may have to wait until a little later to see the darkened moon. This and later times are my estimates.

7:09 end of totallity (this is my estimate according to our Barrie location and Starry Night software.

8:17 end of penumbral

9:22 end of eclipse
