Attendance at Board Meetings BYLAW
02/05 Any member of the executive board unable to attend a Board Regular meeting due to extenuating circumstances shall be accorded the right to vote on a matter of their concern by telephone or by electronic transmission. In such case the recording Secretary shall indicate the member as present in the minutes.
BUG Web Site OPERATING BYLAW BYLAW
01/99 This BYLAW 01/99 is to be posted, by the WebMaster, on the Bug Web Site for all users to read and abide by. 1. The Webmaster, designated by the BUG Executive as the person in charge of the daily operation of the BUG Web Site, shall not install and has the right to delete any offending messages, content or links. A report of such action shall be reported to the EXECUTIVE for review and to propose any further action. 2. Profane or abusive language or inappropriate material is not permitted on the Web Site as it is intended for family use. Links to other sites that the Webmaster, and confirmed by the Executive, considered inappropriate, will be immediately discontinued. 3. The Web Site shall not be used for any illegal purposes or anything considered to be detrimental to BUG. 4. Through E-Mail, open debates are not only allowed, but encouraged. However, harmful or slanderous remarks will not be tolerated either directly or by insinuation. 5. The Executive shall approve all commercial advertising in advance of being posted. 6. Links to members pages shall have returning links on the page that BUG links to or a clearly marked sub-page. Members who do not reciprocate links will have their links removed. 7. Using the BUG Web Site carries a responsibility. No BYLAW can be so comprehensive that it covers all eventualities. The Web Master and each user shall be held accountable for his/her actions. 8. The Executive will review violations of this Bylaw as soon as possible and determine what actions would be appropriate. The WebMaster is expected to take action immediately, but those decisions will be reviewed and confirmed or reversed by the Executive. Serious violations will be brought to the immediate attention of the President who will determine whether an emergency meeting of the Executive is required.
FEES BYLAW 01/04 1) Membership Fees The fee schedule for a 12 month membership in the Barrie Users group is as follows: Active Membership $40.00
Regular Effective February 1, 1998 new and renewed memberships will not be eligible for the rebate outlined in Bylaw 01/93. Rebates to Members for activities in their current membership year (ending prior to February 1, 1999 will be honoured. 2) Visitor Fees a) Visitors will be able to attend their first meeting free. b) A
visitor will only be allowed to attend one free meeting within a one-year
period. Clarification of Bylaws (for illustration purposes only) Fees Each member of the Executive Committee will inform the Treasurer of the participation of members in their area of responsibility. For example, the SIG coordinators will report participation in the SIG meetings. The president will report participation in general club activities and the newsletter editor will report participation in the newsletter. All participation will be tracked, even after a person fulfills their minimum of 2 activities. The president will prepare a certificate of appreciation for members and will present it to the member before the end of their membership year. Once a member has participated twice he/she is eligible for the recognition. Only paid, Active Members are eligible for this recognition. Visitors If a person visits for the first time in September, 1992, he/she will be admitted free. For each subsequent visit for a year, from that day forward, a five-dollar charge will be applied. If the same person wishes to attend a meeting as a visitor in March, 1993, for example, a five-dollar meeting fee will still be required. The next free meeting would occur in September, 1993. But if the member were to pay full Active Membership dues in March 1993, all active member privileges would begin in March and last until February, 1994, inclusive. Bank Signatures Bylaw 02/04 : June 10, 2004 Disbursements made by cheque(s) drawn on the Barrie Users' Group bank account shall be endorsed and countersigned by a minimum of two (2) of the four (4) Executive Officers authorized to endorse such disbursements. The four authorized Executive Officers are: President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.
BUG Logotype Bylaw 03/04 : June 10, 2004 The emblematic device (Logotype) of the Group shall consist of the likeness of a "Ladybug", species Coccinella septempunctata (7 spot Ladybird) or C. Novemnotata (9 spot Ladybird), integrated with the Commodore Business Machines Corp Logotype as shown below.
