and how it works, as well as a demonstration of the actual Voice over
IP service. James will also bring flyers to take home about ABSS Networks
and services.

The evening started with a presentation of the Astronomy program Red Shift. The presenter described the program as having a large amount of data, and many exercises and lectures which described and demonstrated various principles of Astonomy. The program was compared with "Starry Night, Night Sky Explorer" which is a much simpler program to use. The latter is an excellent way to explore the heavens and is probably as much as anyone would want. MC.

Earl discussed the trials, considerations and costs involved in putting together the history of his family, where factors such as research, writing, editing and production were outlined. There were many questions about areas such as photo transfers paper quality (and something about a priest, a minister and a rabbi). |

| Open Source | Mike provided a demo of "Open Office" which came with the open source disk given to several of us last month by our two Linux visitors. It was shown that the word processor, spreadsheet and presentation programs could provide a useful bridge to editing files provided by MSWord, Excel and Front Page respectively. |
