Secretary's Report

The minutes were approved as corrected.
The President received a letter regarding a suspected virus. It was recommended all such emails be checked at Hoax.com and the sender be advised if it is indeed a hoax.

Treasurer's Report

Total Balance as of September 07/04 - $3833.47
Acceptance of Report moved by George, seconded by Elizabeth. Passed

Membership Report

George reported 30 members.
24 members and 6 visitors attended the August meeting. George has updated all members email addresses and the Executive members will be sent copies via email.

Newsletter Report

There is still a need for content. Deadline September 25.

Webmaster Report

Paul reported the web page is back in business. It will be updated. The BBQ will be included plus a map supplied by Dave. Also a section for things to sell by members. A picture may be included.

PC SIG

October - A Representative from Sable Computers is coming to demonstrate Notebooks.

November - Dave has arranged for Arnie Stinnisson, Staff Sargent in the Crime Section of the OPP to talk about computer fraud and other related computer crimes.

December - a review of Tax Programmes - possibly MSN chat room description - What is a BLOG? Suggestions for Christmas presents.

Digital Imaging SIG Report

The SIG met at the home of Elizabeth Gillan on September 14th at 7.30 pm. Seven members were present and were joined by Paul's mother Violet. We showed printed copies of the pictures we had taken at the outing prior to the August meeting and explained why we had chosen them and how they had been enhanced.
The next meeting is to be at Melvina McCaw's at 77 Donald St. in Barrie. Paul is to explain how to use layers in Photo Shop Elements. We may have slide shows of examples of our work. (There has been a change in the place of meeting - Alva LaPlante at 25 William St.)

Video SIG

Two members came to the August meeting. There are two examples of the Video of Computer Cleaning. There have been some compatibility problems between computers (PC's & a Mac) . They hope to have a DVD ready for December. The next meeting will be on September 30, place to be announced.

Business arising form the Minutes: Projector: Paul is still getting quotes. The one from Sable is no longer available but they are searching for a replacement. A Dell add looked promising. Paul will choose one, not costing more than $3000.00 total and, with the approval of the Executive, will purchase it. Hopefully this will be done by the next Club meeting.

BBQ

As in the August minutes. Dave says 4 doz corn should be enough. Bring your own meat plus pot luck dessert. Joe's wife to be invited. Suggested that the SIG's have demo's. Add a tag to our Nametags to show we belong to a SIG. Paul reminded the executive to try to circulate and welcome those attending.
