Business Arrising From Minutes
Ray had an e-mail from the city thanking us for our participation in the Celebrate Barrie Day. 8000 attended and it was considered a great success. Once our booth found a spot with electricity everything went well. There was a hands-on activity for the kids. Twenty-nine took part and there were three prizes offered. Only one has responded so far. Ray reported that 4 members volunteered by e-mail.

New Business
The new executive is now installed.

A new position, PC SIG Coordinator Assistant was added. Alva LaPlante was voted in.

The President recommended that Don Edwards, Paul Mather, Ray Williams and Robert Methot continue in their positions. Passed by the Executive.

The other SIG Groups will choose their leaders.

Ray proposed that a steering committee called “The 25th Anniversary Committee” be formed, with a three year mandate to provide the Executive and Membership with ideas and recommendation for celebrating the BARRIE USERS GROUP 25th anniversary in June 2008. Mike Clarke, Robert Methot George Ray and Elizabeth Gillan seconders. Passed.
It was agreed that Ray would act as chairman with a possibility that Paul Bennet would assist him.

Robert will look into getting a wireless mike for the Club. He is to report his findings to Paul.

Condolences were expressed to Ken for the loss of his wife and offers of help given.

Robert reported that donations for coffee and cookies has been good and he now can afford decaffeinated coffee.

Motion to Adjourn
moved by Ken at 9.10, seconded by Mike. Passed.

Prior to the meeting the old and new executive enjoyed a Barbeque in Mike and Diane Clarke’s backyard. Thanks to them both for welcoming us to their home. We hope their dog Penny will make a full recovery!
