minutes were approved as corrected. Acceptance of this report moved by

George reported 33 members. 25 members and 5 visitors
attended the June meeting.

Newsletter
Report
Don being absent it was reported the Newsletter was as
usual.
Webmaster
Paul kept up to date the information regarding “Celebrate Barrie”
on June 4th. He is keeping the web site up to date with the minutes, activities
and meetings. The new membership form will be ready to download and print.
George should be able to use it at the next meeting. Ray recommended that
we put some of the pictures we have been taking of Barrie. Paul will see
what he has and Dave will look through his collection.

Imaging SIG Report
Ten members attended at Elizabeth’s on Tuesday,
June 12th. Pictures were shown on the Gables, and on trips members had
recently taken or pictures on which they had been working. Elizabeth reported
arrangements had been made to hold the September to December meetings
at the Library. The July meeting will be a picture taking at the lakeshore
of the dragon boat races and a meeting at Alva’s afterwards. The
August meeting will be at Elizabeth’s. Paul will demonstrate “webshots”
a method of collecting and showing pictures on the web.

SIG
There will be a meeting at Dave’s office on Thursday
June 23rd. A combination of pictures of Barrie including the Celebration
of Barrie (some from the DI SIG) is to be collated. It was suggested these
be put on the web site, including the video Paul made. The Video group
is working on home networking and color brightness and correction
Business
Arrising From Minutes
Ray had an e-mail from the city thanking us for our participation in the
Celebrate Barrie Day. 8000 attended and it was considered a great success.
Once our booth found a spot with electricity everything went well. There
was a hands-on activity for the kids. Twenty-nine took part and there
were three prizes offered. Only one has responded so far. Ray reported
that 4 members volunteered by e-mail.
New
Business
The new executive is now installed.
A new position, PC
SIG Coordinator Assistant was added. Alva LaPlante was voted in.
The President recommended
that Don Edwards, Paul Mather, Ray Williams and Robert Methot continue
in their positions. Passed by the Executive.
The other SIG Groups
will choose their leaders.
Ray proposed that
a steering committee called “The 25th Anniversary Committee”
be formed, with a three year mandate to provide the Executive and Membership
with ideas and recommendation for celebrating the BARRIE USERS GROUP 25th
anniversary in June 2008. Mike Clarke, Robert Methot George Ray and Elizabeth
Gillan seconders. Passed.
It was agreed
that Ray would act as chairman with a possibility that Paul Bennet would
assist him.
Robert will look
into getting a wireless mike for the Club. He is to report his findings
to Paul.
Condolences were expressed
to Ken for the loss of his wife and offers of help given.
Robert reported that
donations for coffee and cookies has been good and he now can afford decaffeinated
coffee.
Motion
to Adjourn
moved by Ken at 9.10, seconded by Mike. Passed.
Prior to the meeting
the old and new executive enjoyed a Barbeque in Mike and Diane Clarke’s
backyard. Thanks to them both for welcoming us to their home. We hope
their dog Penny will make a full recovery!
