Paul reported that he is working to keep the site up to date and has some ideas for new content.
There were above average hits on our site in December. There were 1,787 visitors, up almost 700 from the average.

An e-mail was received from Bournmouth, England.
The sender had met Brian there and is contemplating coming to Canada in June. Paul invited him to our meeting if the timing is right.

Vintage SIG
TPUG is now reconnected on our site with a new domain name, TPUG.ca.

PC SIG
The presentations at the January meeting were well received.
There were a number of questions from the floor which were answered by the presenters.

February: a presentation on old cameras by Brian.

March: Spreadsheets and databases (Paul).

April: PDA's - pros and cons (Paul/Mike/David). We will need cameras to enlarge the small screens on the wall.

If Alva's investigation into "Computer Teaching in the Schools" is successful, it will be added to the schedule.

Business Arising From Minutes
Mike approached the CEO of the Library regarding an Internet connection for our meetings. He agrees we should have one but has to approach the city about it. We received a letter, however, idicating that there would not be a connection provided. This prompted some discussion of moving our meeting place.

Regarding the Trillium Fund Application Paul discovered that it is necessary to be incorporated in order to apply. We could apply if we had a sponsor who was incorporated. Elizabeth reported that Alva is researching for school contacts.

New Business

Each of us was asked to write a short report on the benefits of being on the executive. This would be put on our site and in the newsletter, hopefully to prompt members to become more involved.

Since we are without an internet connection at the Library, Paul asked that we search for an alternative meeting place. Find out the size of the room, how many it holds, what the price would be and when it would be available. Of course it must have at least a telephone connection, but preferably an internet connection. It would also be an advantage for the room to have a screen. Several possibilities were suggested. When we last paid for a room it was $50.00 a night.

The Linux group has apparently set up a wireless connection which costs considerable ($700.00) and only works from the Georgian Room.

Due to a problem with booking the room at the library. The April meeting will be on Monday, April 3rd.

Winterfest is coming the first of February. Ray will approach City Hall to see what they are planning. The Video and Imaging SIGs will talk about taking pictures.

Motion to Adjourn
Motion to adjourn at 8.55 pm moved by David and seconded by Ray.
