was no mail.
Apparently Hub would send us the magazine if they had a place to send
it.

Treasurer’s
Report
Total Balance as of 08/02/06 $1,605.38
There was a problem with the cheque for the mail boxes as the former president’s
signature was still on the books at the bank so the cheque bounced. We
need to get the proper signatures registered at the bank;
Dave moved authorization of $132.70 for the mail box. ($15.00 for the
cheque). Seconded by Paul Passed
Acceptance of the report moved by Dave, seconded by George Passed

The presentations at the February meeting
on old cameras was very interesting.
March: Spreadsheets and databases. We could show the club data base.
Explain how files are moved from one data base to another – delimited
or tab delimited
April - PDA's - pros and cons.
Mike says we could show a web site with Dreamweaver even without being
on the internet.
Alva was not successful in contacting a school computer group.
Digital
Imaging SIG Report
There were 12 members present.
Ken assisted by Mike gave a demonstration of some of the controls of the
digital camera. Settings that appear to be the same as those of non digital
cameras do not work the same way. We were shown examples of the result
of different settings.
Elizabeth presented some examples of the use of Adobe Photoshop 3, from
a disk prepared by Henry’s called Digital Darkroom. Some members
showed their pictures.
Video
SIG
There was a meeting in January. They watched
a short film edited by Sean.
There will be a meeting next Thursday. The group plans to video Paul’s
scout group activities.
Business
Arising From Minutes
We are still asked t to write a short report
on the benefits of being on the executive.
A reminder that the April meeting will be on Monday, April 3rd.
A number of members attended the room at the library set up during Winterfest
. Due to the location being removed from the main activities and the fact
that the library was not listed as a site, there wasn't much activity.
Mike reported that Victorian Village has no internet access in its public
rooms.
There was a question
as to weather the notice for our meetings was still being sent to the
Examiner.
The Barrie Advance published a booklet on activities and several clubs
are advertised. It would be worthwhile finding out how much they charge
for an ad.
It was suggested we might work with tech store to advertise our activities.
There are a number in the Malls such as The Source, Radio Shack, Japan
Camera etc. Also Staples has two locations in Barrie.
An LCD monitor would
be an improvement over our old one. It would work outdoors at our Summer
presentation.
Ken said there was
equipment left over from CAVE which we could have. Paul agreed to look
at it. There is a Blue Screen which would be useful for the Video Group.
