Report
It was moved by Paul and seconded by Mike that the Secretary’s Report
be accepted as corrected.Passed
Elizabeth also reported that George had received an email from an unhappy
member. Since she was the one who arrived at the DI Group meeting on the
evening we were late coming to the Library, Elizabeth will send a reply.
Treasurers
Report
Total Balance as of 10/05/2006- $1955.54
Paul has purchased the monitor as agreed by the executive.
It cost $249.00 from Staples plus $36 for a three year extended warranty..
Our new treasurer, Melvina McCaw, will be absent until December. It was
agreed by the executive that Dave would continue as treasurer until December.
It was moved by George and seconded by Ray that the report be accepted.
Passed.
Membership
Report
George reported that we are losing members.
We now have 28 members.
There were 16 members and three visitors at the May meeting,
Newsletter
Don will not produce a newsletter for July or August. The minutes will
be sent to Paul and posted on the site Elizabeth will send a copy of the
minutes to the members of the executive before the next meeting.
Webmaster
Paul reported he is keeping up the site.

Ray provided the greater part of his inventory report, which is extensive.

At the June meeting Richard B. gave a demonstration of the Tablet PC.
Dave answered questions from the floor on other topics.
The program on encryption will be postponed.
In July Paul will discuss how to search in Google, how to make a CD/DVD
and how to backup email. He may not have time to cover all of these subjects
at one meeting.

There were 14 people at the June meeting. Richard showed pictures of a
railway journey in Switzerland. Alva demonstrated graphics available in
Word. Dave showed vidcasts he had saved from the web. They were made by
a father and his son for a program called “Woven Shadows”
at www.izzy.com.
Video
Sig
The group met on the Third Thursday of May. They met at Ken’s and
looked at a number of izzy’s vidcasts. The next meeting is to be
the third Thursday of June at Ken’s home.
Business
arising from the Minutes
Ray had a letter of thanks from the Celebrate Barrie representative thanking
us for our participation.
Paul had the monitor for use at our booth and it worked very well.
New
Business
Alva offered to approach some places to try to get some more interest
in BUG and hopefully more members.
A couple of members from the Linux group attended our meeting and brought
some disks for distribution. Dave and Paul attended their meeting. It
was suggested they might join our group as a SIG and benefit from our
organization.
Brian will look into finding a site for the Club BBQ. It should take
place early in September, preferably during the second weekend.
The executive thanked Mike and Diane for hosting our BBQ.
A motion to adjourn was made at 9.00 by George, and seconded by Mike.
