Report
The minutes for the July meeting are posted on the web site.
The minutes for August were passed as corrected. Paul will correct them
on the web site.
Treasurers
Report
Total Balance as of 13/09/2006 is $1,189.74
The acceptance of this report was moved by Paul and seconded by George.
Passed
The report will be attached to these minutes.
Check #25 has not been cashed.
Dave reminded us that some members of the executive have not turned in
their property list.
Membership
Report
George reported that we now have 28 members. There were 19 members and
7 visitors at the August meeting.
Newsletter
There was no newsletter in September. There will be one in October.
Webmaster
Paul suggested we keep
checking the web site as new things keep getting added.
Brian suggested we should thank our International visitors to the site.
Anniversary
Committee
Ray said hw would look into prices for bumper stickers and T-Shirts.
Vintage

There is an International Vintage Computer festival in California.
Ray saw an ad for a $75.00 game box to be assembled.
He suggested we might have a group to teach kids to put one together.
PC

Paul will put the programs on our web site.
Earl’s presentation on how to publish a book using your computer
was very well done. The Q and A period produced a number of questions
and proved quite informative.
It was suggested it would be helpful if questions could be provided ahead
of time.
The October program is still under consideration.
Mike will demonstrate a new astronomy program.
There will be a Q&A section.
Paul is hoping to tape the meetings and accumulate the questions and answers
for future reference.

There were12 people at the September meeting.
Several members showed slide shows they had produced with movie maker,
a program that comes with XP.
Dave showed how to use Studio 9 to zoom into a picture.
He helped one member to put her show together and show it.
Charlie Carswell, Elizabeth’s brother, will give a presentation
on “Colour in Your Life” at the October meeting.
Those who did not show a “Whacky” slide show in September
meeting are asked to have one for this meeting.

The group is to meet on the fourth Thursday of September at Dave’s
office.
Business
arising from the Minutes
The BBQ was good. The corn was excellent and it did not rain on us.
Thanks was made to Dave for all his work in getting ready.
We appreciate the work of everyone who helped. Eighteen people came.
No Linux members came or responded to our invitation.
New
Business
It was moved by Mike that the position of Publicity Coordinator be added
to the executive.
Seconded by Passed.
It will be included in the minutes following the Membership listing.
It was moved by Brian that
Alva LaPlante be appointed as Publicity Coordinator.
Seconded by George. Passed.
Alva’s position will
be inserted in the minutes after the Membership Report.
Other places where ads might be placed were discussed.
Barrie Life and Times will come and take pictures if there is a something
special happening.
The possibility of becoming involved in the local Science Fair put on
by the Schools was discussed.
Elizabeth reported that there
is to be a Digital Imaging Show put on by Henry’s at the International
Centre October 13, 14 and 15 2006.
At 8.55 pm a motion to adjourn
