Further information about the Video SIG and for the report given under New Business will be posted on the BUG web site.

Treasurers Report
Total Balance as of 05/01/2007 is $1,524.35.

Melvina signed in at the TD Bank to replace Dave as a signing officer. She discovered that those listed as having signing rights for BUG are only Melvina and Brian. Elizabeth’s and Ken’s names have been misplaced so they intend to go on Tuesday, January 16 to have their names added.

Dave pointed out that the annual rent for the Mail Box is due in February.

Membership Report
George reported that we have 26 members.

There were 18 members and one guest present at the December meeting.

Ken offered as a courtesy, to phone the two members who had let their membership lapse.

Publicity
No Report.

Newsletter
Don produced a newsletter for the January meeting. He is still hoping to receive articles for inclusion in the newsletter.

Webmaster
Paul is working on some revisions offered by Ray for the website.

The dates and rooms for the meetings have been posted on the website. These cover January to June 2007.

Paul would like to put up a Photo Page on the site and is asking the DI Group to contribute.

The genealogy group in Barrie (The Simcoe County Branch of the Ontario Genealogy Society) had suggestions at their meeting for web sites pertaining to pictures in family histories. Paul will include these on our site and a link to their site.

PC Sig
The January meeting had information on copying music from tapes and vinyl to a computer using existing equipment (players), at minimal cost. David also explained how to change to MP3 format and how to burn your music to CD.

Paul pointed out that the presenters are not there to teach the subjects, only to give information and tips.

Mike will bring a handout to the next meting asking members to fill in what they do with their computers. It is hoped that members will be willing to give short presentations on how they use their computers and pointers on programs they use. We need to encourage members to take the plunge and not be afraid to speak to the group.

Digital Sig
There were 12 members at the January meeting. Quite a number of them showed recent pictures they had taken.

Mike demonstrated his new camera, and explored its various settings as we watched the projected images. Digital cameras allow you to learn from your mistakes - and successes – without any penalty if you do not count the good-humoured appreciation of the audience.

Dave reminded us that the group shouldn’t expect a few members to give all the presentations. He suggested that each of us find a free program on the internet, or a useful tool to demonstrate.

Video Sig
There was no meeting in December. There will be a meeting on January 18th at Dave’s office. Ken has some work on which he wants evaluation and advice.

Business arising from the Minutes
N/A

New Business
Ken attended the first day of this year’s High School Competition for Robots at the Ontario Science Centre. He took some video, which he may show at the next BUG meeting. He will ask if anyone is interested in Robotics. The Robotic Group is offering a Robot kit to Secondary Schools. The cost to the schools is $1,000.00 each so they are looking for sponsors.

Since the meeting next month is on a Monday, George will email the members. Also Barbara will give each member a phone call.

Barbara bought a tote box to carry the refreshment supplies. It cost $5.45

Dave remarked that the executive meetings were tending to get off topic.
It was suggested that committee members bring written reports and give them to the secretary.

Adjournment
At 9.10 pm a motion to adjourn was made by George and seconded by Dave.
Passed.
