SIG met as usual, hosted by Dave Jackson, .with Paul Mather making a presentation
of his latest completed video of his Scout Group’s winter camping
weekend. Paul expanded on the pros and cons of the editing vis-a-vis the
opportunities he had to shoot additional action close-ups. There was time

Business
arising from the Minutes
Celebrate Barrie: As reported in the April minutes, we will participate
in “Celebrate Barrie” on June 2nd. We are to be there to set
up between 9.00 and 9.30 a.m.. We must be set up by 9.30 am It ends at
5.00 pm. We agree to stay at the site until it is all cleaned up. We promise
not to provide food or sales items. We may provide information hand outs.
There was some question as to whether Ray will be able to attend.
Regarding the loud speaker system, Paul said they have opted not to buy
it until we find a bigger room.
As regards a meeting room,
Brian agreed to check out the Legion Hall on St Vincent St. Melvina will
call Georgian Manor. It was suggested Holiday Inn might have a meeting
room. $50 - $75 a night was suggested as a reasonable cost if it included
an Internet connection.
New
Business
The next Executive meeting will be a BBQ on June 14th at 6.30 pm, provisionally
at Mike’s. Bring your own meat and salads etc will be provided.
The September BBQ was discussed. Since it has become quite small Dave
suggested it might be held in someone’s backyard. Brian said his
might be available. The suggested date is September 8th or 9th.
A wireless internet connection would cost $300 and $60 a month. It is
not very reliable.
Adjournment
At 8.50 pm Ken moved the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Brian.
Passed.
