Alva has been unable to get the Examiner to publish our meetings. She asked that anyone with ideas for further publicity to contact her. Melvina suggested our name does not explain what our club offers. Paul suggested we print our present information sheet and see how it could be improved. At present we are not explaining the many activities carried on by the club.

We still need more computer related material for the newsletter.

Digital Imaging Sig
On Saturday morning May 26, 9 members met at Tim’s on HWY 90 and went to the Tiffin Area of Conservation. It was a beautiful day and we took lots of pictures. We also shared techniques for using our cameras.

The DI Group met in the Georgian Room of the Barrie Library on June 12. 12 members attended and one sent his pictures. We had pictures from a number of members – from the Tiffin outing, Celebrate Barrie and other activities. Paul and Elizabeth gave demonstrations on the use of Photo Shop Elements 5. Paul showed how to convert a number of pictures at once; also ways to combine pictures. He has promised to show how to do 3D next month. We hope to have members show other examples of ways to use their software.
The outing was very successful and we are considering having another one.

Video Sig
The Video SIG met as usual, with 5 attending. Ken showed some of his old equipment, a projector and a magic lantern. Paul showed his updated Photoshop Elements. Mike had some pictures. Ken spoke of the reasons for the transformation of old videos.

Nominations Committee:

The report of the Election of Officers is appended to the minutes.
Those elected for 2007-2008 are:
President - Brian Everett
Vice President - Ken Elliott
Secretary - Elizabeth Gillan
Treasurer - Melvina McCaw

Business arising from the Minutes

Celebrate Barrie: Paul reported that many members came and helped. There was a good response from those attending the event and many showed interest and asked questions. There was some surprise that the club was more than computers; photo and video. There were three winners for the oil can game. Paul is attempting to contact them. It was suggested the winner be invited to a meeting to receive his/her prize.

As regards a meeting room, Brian checked with the Legion and received a rather negative response. . Melvina has not called Georgian Manor yet. Brian and Melvina will investigate available rooms for BUG Meetings. The Library has list of available meeting rooms in Barrie.

New Business

Since Mike does not think that the meeting room at the Library has not been signed up for the summer. Brian intends to go on Friday and try to make arrangements for the Angus Ross Room.
The September BBQ is to be held in Brian’s Backyard at 20 Burbank Place off St, Vincent on September 8th at 1pm. We are to bring our meat and a potluck dish, also plated and cutlery. Soft drinks, coffee and corn will be supplied.
Paul feels we need more emphasis on basic computer programs at club meetings
