Windows XP

Speed up the performance of your computer

In one of our meetings we talked about "tweeking" your computer to improve its performance. The following are some ways that you can do this.

General system performance

Right click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop and

Select "Properties".

In the "System Properties" window
Select
the "Advanced" tab and then
Select the Performance "Settings" button.

In the "Performance Options" window
Select "Adjust for best performance".

Select "OK" close both windows.

If you particularly miss something that you have turned off:

Select "Custom" and the items you want to keep

However ..... you will lose performance with each selection.
